Feeding Habits and Comments
At a distance we often mistook this as a Red Headed Wood Pecker.
Now that he is visiting our feeder we see his true beauty and we are grateful.
They seem to prefer hulled sunflowers and nuts but the smaller grains like millet
are seen in his beak often.
Note: This view shows a little of his red belly, hence the name, Red Bellied
Wood Pecker.
